Post-doctoral positions, Center for Genomic Science of IIT@SEMM, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Milan, Italy

The Center for Genomic Science of IIT@SEMM is an outstation of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia located within the IFOM-IEO Campus in Milan, one of the largest and most vibrant cancer research communities in Europe. The Center is coordinated by Dr. Bruno Amati and benefits from state-of-the art technological platforms including a high-throughput cell-based screening unit, next-generation DNA sequencing and others. Available projects will address the genetic determinants of tumor progression and of therapeutic responses, as well as genome/epigenome regulation in mouse tumor models and cultured cells. Special emphasis will be placed on genome-wide profiling and screening strategies, such as ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, RNAi-based screens and others.

Computational biologist

IIT@SEMM is a research outstation of the Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia located in Milan at the IFOM-IEO-CAMPUS. IIT@SEMM produces and analyses genomic data in a cancer research environment.

The Screening Unit will perform small molecule and genetic screens with a variety of endpoint readouts, including homogenous assay formats (primarily fluorescence and luminescence) and high content imaging (microscopy-based readouts).

We are looking for a Computational Biologist that will interact with a strong IT department on campus, as well as external screening units in order to develop an IT pipeline for data sharing, and a web-based platform that will be accessible to internal and external collaborators. The primary scientific role of the Computational Biologist will be to utilize existing software, and develop custom-made algorithms in order to analyze and prioritize data generated during high throughput and high content screening campaigns.
