Punith Reddy Vanteddu received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical engineering in 2012 from JNTU Hyderabad, India. He then went on to obtain a Master in Design degree specializing in the design of Mechanical Systems in 2015 from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Chennai, India. During his masters, he was able to gain aptitude and experience in Product design and development. As a part of the thesis, he worked on large deflection properties of superelastic materials such as Shape memory alloys and was able to design and develop a microgripper that can deform due to shape memory actuation.

He also holds an MSc degree in Bionics engineering specializing in Biorobotics obtained in 2019, from Universita di Pisa in collaboration with the Istituto di Biorobotica, Scuola Superiore di SantÁnna. As a part of the coursework, he was able to explore the various topics related to surgical robotics, robotic exoskeletons, Artificial hands for rehabilitation. His thesis was to design and develop a prosthetic robotic thumb that was capable of performing both Abduction/adduction and Flexion/ extension movements using a single actuator with non-back drivable properties.

In April 2020 He joined the team of iRonCub in Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence, as a mechanical designer tasked to facilitate a tetherless flight possibility for the robot.
