Eleonora Giannotta is a PhD student at the University of Salento, collaborating with Prof. Giuseppe Maruccio's Omnics Research Group at the CNR - Institute of Nanotechnology in Lecce. Currently, she is a visiting PhD student at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Teresa Pellegrino's Group, where she is investigating the use of magnetic nanoparticles for pesticide delivery and the miniaturization of plant pathogen detection systems.
Holding a master's degree in Industrial Biotechnology, her academic background spans various fields, from human diseases to plant pathogens. Her previous research includes exploring treatments for neurodegenerative diseases using innovative 3D cell culture models and studying preventive strategies for the spread of Xylella fastidiosa.
She participated in the h-ALO Training School 2023 at CNR-Bologna and the International School of Medical Bionanotechnology and Nanomedicine at CNR-Nanotec Lecce in October 2023. In addition, she presented her work through posters titled "Lab-on-chip for Phytopathogen Monitoring" at LEbiotech 2023 and "Lab-on-chip for Xylella fastidiosa Study" at LEbiotech 2024.
Eleonora obtained her Qualification as a Biologist (Section A) in 2023.
